The Obstacle:

Noah and Gordon James knew in high school that they desired to establish a landscaping business. In 2003, the brothers established Lush-Lime Landscaping and Nursery in the Washington, D.C. region.

While they were experts in design-build, they knew very little about online marketing for their business. They were severely impacted by the extreme seasonality of their industry and required a steady flow of high-quality leads to fill the slow season. While they created a website, it did nothing to increase sales or attract visitors.

Noah and Gordon came to Blue Corona in 2012 with the intention of increasing their online leads, increasing their sales conversion rate, and expanding their online presence. They had three distinct issues:

  • They had to increase website traffic
  • They needed a consistent flow of leads during the off-season. 
  • They had to dominate their local market in the search engine results.
The Treatment:

Lush-Lime and Blue Corona collaborated to provide search engine optimization (SEO) services. We began by conducting a competitive analysis of the other local market participants in order to determine where the greatest opportunities lay. After identifying their most profitable projects and the areas where their competitors were outperforming them in the search engines, we optimised those areas.

After completing the initial round of optimizations, we optimised their local SEO, social media, and directory listings, among other aspects of their online presence. To address the slow-season issue, we distributed evergreen content to their core audience, thereby establishing brand awareness and authority and ensuring that they remained top-of-mind.
